What this tool does
This checker identifies the grants, loans and support schemes a student or family may be able to claim, based on your age, your stage of study and your circumstances.
It is general guidance to help you spot what to apply for, not a funding decision or a guarantee.
When to use it
Use it when you are planning to study and want to know how it will be paid for, when you are filling in funding applications, or when you want to check you are not missing support you are entitled to, including help for part-time, mature and lower income students.
How it works
You answer a few questions about your age, current and planned education, household income and how you will study. It then outlines the funding most likely to apply to you and where to claim it. Nothing you enter is saved, and you do not need to give your name or email to use it. Eligibility and amounts change each year, so confirm everything with the official funding body or on gov.uk before you rely on it.
Ask Funding Education a question
Ask our editorial team a question and we will reply with our advice. Tell us as much about your situation as you can: the more detail you give, the more useful our answer can be.
You do not need to use your real name. Please do not include your full address, phone number, email address, or the names of other people. We may edit or remove identifying details for privacy and legal reasons.
